Visit Seattle Hires Mellie Lutz as
Director of Marketing

SEATTLE – Visit Seattle welcomes Mellie Lutz as Director of Marketing to its team. As part of the Visit Seattle team, Lutz will work closely with stakeholders to identify market opportunities and execute marketing campaign strategies designed to attract visitors. She will also be responsible for promoting the destination and building brand awareness on behalf of the city, county, and region.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have Mellie join our team as Director of Marketing for Visit Seattle,” Senior Vice President & CMO for Visit Seattle Ali Daniels said. “Her wealth of agency experience as well as her knowledge of and passion for the tourism industry is truly invaluable. I have complete confidence in her ability to work across our vast network of partners on behalf of the city and be an integral asset to our team.”

Lutz brings six years of creative advertising agency experience from Mekanism, Heat, and Geometry Global to Visit Seattle. She has a proven track record of managing successful marketing projects including a multi-channel campaign to announce the Alaska Airlines acquisition of Virgin America. As Senior Brand Manager at Mekanism she served as the firm’s first employee in Seattle, spearheaded its launch, built its ranks, and developed its reputation in the region.

“Working at Visit Seattle is really my dream job because I get to represent this incredible city, and find ways to tell the story of Seattle and encourage people to see it for themselves,” Lutz said.

Lutz fell in love with Seattle while attending the University of Washington where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Certificate in Sales. Outside of Visit Seattle she is an avid Husky sports fan, yoga aficionado, and book club member.
