SEATTLE – Taste Washington on the Farm brings together celebrated farms, chefs and winemakers on Friday, March 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Two epicurean journeys trace menus from earth to table, options include Oxbow Farms or Fall City Farms.
Each experience – Food, Farming & Cultivating Roots at Oxbow Farms and The Art of Sourcing Local at Fall City Farms – will showcase the state’s distinctive ingredients. Savor each bite while learning from the farmers who cultivate the ingredients, the chefs who prepare them and the winemakers who artfully craft wine to complement them all.
Tickets are $125 each and include a reception at Seattle’s rugged outfitter, Filson, where you will be greeted with sparkling wine and transportation to and from downtown. Guests must be 21 or older to attend. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit tastewashington.org.
“I can’t wait for the Art of Sourcing Local event during Taste Washington,” said Maggie Trujillo, executive chef at Seattle’s new restaurant Aerlume and the visiting chef who will be preparing lunch at Fall City Farms. “The Aerlume menu is designed to highlight local and seasonal ingredients and our partnership with Fall City Farms is a big part of that. We are looking forward to gathering at the farm to share that experience.”

Buty will serve her wines alongside Trujillo’s menu at Fall City Farms. “Our guests are invited to explore the farm and then enjoy a prepared lunch, just there on the land that grew our meal, lifted with the makings for a perfectly bucolic afternoon: a summation of people who steward the land, grow the foods, shape the wines, craft the meal, offer warm hospitality, and support the cycle. I believe nourishment is the Venn of this diagram, which lights me up.”

Journey through the property with Fall City Farms owners and learn about their custom farming operation with new Seattle restaurant Aerlume. Then, take a break for a food and wine pairing that celebrates Washington’s fresh, homegrown ingredients, with an exquisite meal prepared by the talented Maggie Trujillo, executive chef at Aerlume, and flavorful bottles of Washington State wines from Chateau Ste. Michelle, Damsel Cellars and Pepper Bridge Winery. Finish the day with a sweet treat from Hot Cakes Molten Chocolate Cakery.
