Seattle First Takes’ Third Season Debuts to Global Audience

First-time visitors from Europe and Asia explore Seattle through the five senses

SEATTLE – Visit Seattle, the city’s official destination marketing organization, released season three of the Seattle First Takes series with an international cast from key overseas markets in Asia and Europe. Highlighting five first-time visitors to Seattle, this new season follows the guests’ journeys and their recollections, creating an immersive glimpse into the city for all to enjoy. Seattle First Takes, which was developed in partnership with local Seattle creative agency PB&, can be viewed at VISITSEATTLE.tv.

Seattle First Takes allows real, first-time visitors to explore our destination and share their own unique and inspiring experiences,” said Ali Daniels, Visit Seattle’s Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “First-time experiences are always powerful, especially in the world of travel and we’re excited that the third season of this series features an entirely international cast.”

The internationally-inspired third season of Seattle First Takes includes 10 episodes, all in native language. The five visitors represent key overseas inbound visitor markets for Seattle and are each featured in two episodes:

  1. Sonia, a French furniture designer, experiences the magical feeling of riding a Washington State Ferry to Bainbridge Island in “Sailing the Sound.” She also gains inspiration during a breathtaking trip to Chihuly Garden and Glass in “Filling the Soul.”
  2. Kevin, a German bassist, sound engineer, and tour manager delights in the simple, but powerful flavors of Seattle’s locally grown cuisine in “Savoring the Garden.” A Washington State Ferry ride then showcases Seattle’s close bond with nature in “Feeling the Air.”
  3. Mengdan, a Chinese business professional, takes in the city’s skyline from above in a Kenmore Air seaplane in “Soaring over the City.” She then experiences the vast smells, tastes, and sights of Pike Place Market in “Smelling the Sun and Ocean.”
  4. Yuki, a Japanese airline employee, is transported into a different world at Chihuly Garden and Glass in “Magic in the Garden.” Yuki also explores Seattle’ incredibly culinary scene in “Fresh from the Farm.”
  5. Bobby, a South Korean sculptor and designer immerses himself in the colors and shapes of nature at Chihuly Garden and Glass in “Drawing from Nature.” Bobby also escapes the city and soaks in the natural beauty of Volunteer Park in “A City Oasis.”

While available for viewing at VISITSEATTLE.tv, episodes will also be featured across Visit Seattle’s international social media channels and throughout overseas in-market advertising. Consumer ad campaigns in Tokyo and Seoul, both launching today, will be the first to utilize this dynamic Seattle First Takes content.
