CityPass Celebrates 20 Years in Seattle


SEATTLE – Today marks two decades of visitor service in Seattle for Seattle CityPASS®.The attractions pass helps visitors save by bundling prepaid admission to a destination’s top attractions into discounted, easy-to-use ticket booklets.

CityPASS®  debuted in San Francisco and Seattle, with the first ticket booklet selling in Seattle on June 11, 1997. Since then, Seattle CityPASS®  has served thousands, if not millions, of Seattle visitors and locals alike, showcasing the city’s top attractions and helping patrons save on entrance fees.

Today, Seattle CityPASS®  features the Space Needle, Seattle Aquarium, Argosy Cruises Harbor Tour, Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) or the Woodland Park Zoo, and Chihuly Garden and Glass or the Pacific Science Center.

CityPASS® co-founders Mike Morey and Mike Gallagher began with a specific vision: handpick the very best attractions in major North American destinations and then discount admission to those attractions by up to 50 percent. Destination passes are limited to the number of attractions whose tickets are included in the ticket booklets – a select number of tickets to the top sights means that travelers can slow down, take their time, and really enjoy themselves at each location.”

Since inception 20 years ago, ten more cities joined CityPASS® and more than 17 million combined CityPASS®   ticket bookletshave been sold. In addition to Seattle and San Francisco, the CityPASS®   family of destinations today includes: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, New York City, Philadelphia, Tampa Bay, Toronto and Southern California (includes admission to Disneyland, Disney California Adventure Park, SeaWorld San Diego and LEGOLAND California).
