SEATTLE – Alisa Carroll was appointed Director, Public Relations for Visit Seattle effective May 9. A tourism veteran with strong corporate experience, Carroll joins a team of four in the Visit Seattle Public Relations and Communications division and will be responsible for the organization’s destination publicity program and other aspects of PR and communications.
Carroll worked in the Public Affairs division at Starbucks at its Seattle headquarters for the past decade, serving most recently as Senior Manager, Public Affairs for the Teavana brand from January 2015 to present. Previously, Carroll was Senior Manager, Partner Communications and Engagement; and Communications Senior Manager and Global Consumer Public Relations and Communications Program Manager, International. During her ten-year tenure she has led communications for many product launches and consumer campaigns – both domestic and international – and led front-of-house efforts for the annual meeting of Starbucks shareholders.
From 2000 to 2005, Carroll served as Director of Public Relations for the Fairmont Olympic Hotel where she handled communications during the transition from Four Seasons to Fairmont brands. She managed public relations and media relations for the 450-room hotel, three restaurants and executive chef while providing executive communications support to general manager for interviews and public engagements.
Prior to the Fairmont Olympic, Carroll held several communications roles, including as a senior writer and editor in the Harvard University Development Office in Cambridge, MA, where she wrote, edited, and oversaw print and electronic communications projects and developed and managed communications and event materials for Harvard’s first donor recognition program.

Carroll has a Bachelor of Arts, School of Journalism, College of Communication Arts and Sciences from Michigan State University.
