JANUARY

BRAND USA MEXICO SALES MISSION

January 13-18, 2019 – Mexico City and Monterrey, Mexico

  • Meet with Mexico’s leading travel trade and media partners in Mexico City and Monterrey.
  • New non-stop flights from Mexico City (Aeromexico) and Guadalajara (Volaris) have strengthened Seattle and Washington State’s inbound visitation opportunity from Mexico.

ICELANDAIR MID-ATLANTIC

January 31-February 3, 2019 – Reykjavík, Iceland
  • Suppliers have the opportunity to meet with qualified buyers, primarily from Iceland and Europe.
  • Icelandair has successfully operated non-stop flights to Seattle from Reykjavík since 2009 and is a popular route for European visitors.

NAJ’S RTO SUMMIT WEST

February 13-14, 2019 – Marina del Rey, CA
  • RTO Summit West connects U.S. suppliers with Los Angeles-based Receptive Tour Operators (RTOs).
  • Over 100 RTOs attended in 2018, 40% of which were Chinese.
  • Nearly all Japanese and Chinese operators are headquartered in Los Angeles, as well as European-based RTOs who service and operate National Park and Western programs.

  • Aer Lingus operates a four-city travel agent roadshow annually, featuring U.S. destinations with which the airline offers non-stop air service.

JAPAN AND SOUTH KOREA SALES MISSION*

March 18-22, 2019 – Tokyo, Japan and Seoul, South Korea
  • The Seattle Mariners open their 2019 season against the Oakland A’s in Tokyo! Join Visit Seattle as we entertain VIP trade and media clients at this must-attend event.
  • This mission also features an exclusive media event in Tokyo, travel trade seminars in both Tokyo and Seoul, and a multitude of opportunities for partners to connect face-to-face with decision makers from two of our most important overseas inbound visitor markets.
  • South Korea is Seattle’s second largest overseas inbound visitor market; Japan is Seattle’s fourth largest overseas inbound visitor market.

 

ACTIVE AMERICA CHINA

March 26-28, 2019 – Anchorage, Alaska
  • China is the fastest growing inbound tourism market to North America and Active America China, now in its 10th year, is the only show in North America 100% dedicated to building inbound Chinese tourism.
  • Tour operators who attended Active America China in 2018 were from companies that were responsible for over 40% of all tourism to North America.

IPW 2019

  • U.S. Travel Association’s IPW is the travel industry’s premier international marketplace and the largest generator of travel to the U.S.

HANATOUR INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL SHOW*

June 6-9, 2019 – Seoul, South Korea (TENTATIVE DATES)
  • This is the largest travel expo in South Korea; Hana Tour is also the largest travel agency in the country.
  • This International Travel Show features both business-to-business and business-to-consumer opportunities.
  • Over 1,140 companies exhibited in 2018, welcoming 80,000 visitors and generating $122.6 million in sales of Hana Tour’s U.S. and Canadian tour product onsite.

 

SEPTEMBER

GERMAN SALES TRIP*

September 2-6, 2019 – Cities TBD
  • Meet face-to-face with leading travel trade and media partners in Germany and Switzerland on this three-city sales trip.
  • Partners will participate in sales trainings, product-level meetings with key tour operators, and entertain VIP customers at Visit Seattle dinners and events.
  • Non-stop flights from Frankfurt (Lufthansa) and Cologne (Eurowings) continue to support strong visitation to Seattle and Washington State from the German market.

BRAND USA TRAVEL WEEK

September 9-12, 2019 – London, England
  • This inaugural event is an exclusive series of business-to-business meetings, educational opportunities, and consumer activations.
  • One of the major components of Brand USA Travel Week will be the Brand USA Travel Expo, a new business-to-business tourism event for the UK and Europe consisting of pre-scheduled meetings.
  • Also taking place during Brand USA Travel Week will be an innovative speaker series focused on the top marketers, strategists, and technologists in the tourism industry

BRAND USA INDIA SALES MISSION*

September 2019
  • Brand USA offers the ideal platform for U.S. suppliers to interact directly with tour operators, airline representatives, travel agents, incentive and meeting agents, and media in three cities in India.
  • The main focus of this Mission is to encourage Indian visitation to the U.S. and educate the Indian travel industry on the limitless potential of the U.S. as a travel destination.
  • Previous India Sales Mission participants have successfully expanded their footprint in India and this trend will continue through the 2018 Brand USA India Sales Mission.

 

OCTOBER

TOURISM EXPO JAPAN

October 24-27, 2019 – Osaka, Japan
  • Tourism Expo Japan is one of the largest travel trade and consumer shows in the world, with a record-breaking attendance of 207,000 visitors in 2018.
  • Featuring both business-to-business and business-to-consumer components, the tradeshow provides U.S. suppliers an opportunity to connect with key Japanese clients and also promote their product to consumers interested in travel to the United States.
  • Delta Air Lines has announced non-stop flights from Osaka to Seattle, starting April 1, 2019.

November 2019 – Seoul, South Korea
  • Mode Tour is South Korea’s second-largest wholesaler and 2019 welcomes Mode Tour’s sixth travel mart.
  • Mode Tour Travel Mart features a business-to-business day, where U.S. suppliers have the opportunity host pre-scheduled business appointments, and two business-to-consumer days.
  • Over 100,000 consumers annually attend, providing U.S. suppliers the ability to showcase and sell their product onsite.
