Kaneza Schaal and Cornell Alston: JACK &

5/10/2018 through 5/13/2018 | On The Boards

Theatre Queen Anne/Seattle Center

JACK & is a comedy of errors structured on social codes and the training within prison reentry programs to debutante balls. The performance considers the metric-less damages of being in prison; not the time one has served but the measure of one’s dreaming that is given to the state. Aspirational class stories like those of the 1950’s sitcoms The Honeymooners and Amos and Andy, intersect with real and imagined ceremonies for entering society. Directed by Kaneza Schaal and starring Cornell Alston, the performance explores markers of transition and transformation, and the liminal ritual spaces that bridge worlds.
