Theatre Downtown

In 1980, following its massive restoration from a movie palace to a state-of-the-art performance house, The 5th Avenue Theatre re-opened its doors with an extended run of the national tour of Annie with a return tour in 1986. Twenty-two years later, Annie, Sandy, Daddy Warbucks, Miss Hannigan and the rest will return to Seattle in an original 5th Avenue Theatre staging certain to be one of the best theater trips any family can have. Laced with unforgettable stories and songs including “Tomorrow,” “It’s a Hard Knock Life” and “Easy Street,” this is a musical experience that is cherished and remembered for a lifetime—no matter how old you are. The worldwide phenomenon features music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin and book by Thomas Meehan and will be directed by Seattle’s own Billie Wildrick in her 5th Avenue Theatre directorial debut.
