A circle made by walking is a performance based installation in two parts. One serves as a space to process the passing of the artist’s father, the other to code black womanness. On several occasions the artist will walk 2.41 hours, in preparation for a 24.1-mile walk from one end of the island of Bermuda to the other. The walk is to memorialize her father and to honor her paternal Bermudian lineage.
