Attend one, two or all three and witness the development of a new play! Audience feedback welcome during a facilitated Q&A session at the end of the readings. A CAPTIVE SONG explores oppression from the perspective of the oppressed. Naturally, the protagonist is a killer whale named Cutie Pie, who awakens from the learned safety of her gated upbringing to discover her matriarchal lineage, innate intelligence and wild instincts. She encounters grave consequences when reconciling her true nature with others’ expectations of her, all in an effort to free herself from her cement prison.
