PART TIME CONCIERGE

Job description:

Visit Seattle is now hiring for a temporary, part time Concierge to work for the Seattle Visitor and Concierge Services Center at the Pike Place Market Information Kiosk (MIC).

Do you know Seattle and the Northwest inside and out and love to share it with others?  We are looking for an Olympic-level task master who is able to work independently and who thrives in a fast-paced environment.  The perfect candidate will be extremely organized, detail-oriented, enthusiastic, energetic, and have patience, understanding and empathy. Must enjoy helping others and focusing on their satisfaction and exhibit extraordinary customer service with every visitor and partner interaction.

Schedule:  Flexible

Desk Hours:  9:45am to 6:15pm

Schedule Hours:  10-12 hours a week including two weekends a month

Compensation:  $16/hour plus ORCA card

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist visitors from around the world in crafting their perfect Seattle experience.
  • Provide extraordinary service to all visitors requesting information and concierge services to walk-up visitors and visitor callers.
  • Promote Visit Seattle partnership and market vendors through referrals, recommendations and bookings.
  • Work as a liaison with our Partner Services department to solicit new partners.
  • Keep necessary inventory of partner brochures: order, re-stock and hand-out as necessary.
  • Update daily ‘hot sheet’ of events in Seattle community.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:

  • At least 2 years as hotel concierge or in hospitality/tourism/customer service
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Always patient, understanding, helpful and cheerful
  • In-depth Seattle and state knowledge
  • Passionate and enthusiastic
  • Ethical
  • Professional
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Computer proficient
  • Able to lift and move 50+ pounds

  • Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, ten key, multi-line touch phone, filing cabinets, FAX machines, photocopiers, scanner and other office equipment as needed.
