Visit Seattle is now hiring for a lead concierge for the Seattle Visitor and Concierge Services Center on the 1st floor of the Washington State Convention Center.  Do you know Seattle tours, attractions, restaurants and sights inside and out, and love to share them with others?  We are looking for an Olympic-level task master who is able to work independently, proactively, and who thrives in a fast-paced environment.  The perfect candidate will be extremely organized, detail-oriented, enthusiastic, energetic, and have endless patience, understanding and empathy. Must enjoy helping others and focusing on their satisfaction and exhibit “high touch” service with every visitor and partner interaction.  Team management, leadership, and skills training are a plus.


40 hours a week year-round (including weekends)

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist visitors from around the world in crafting their perfect Seattle experience.
  • Provide “high touch” service and local information to walk up visitors, callers and email requests.
  • Possess exceptional working knowledge of our attractions, venues, events and partner products/services.
  • Promote Visit Seattle partnership through referrals, recommendations and bookings.
  • Assist in inventory of partner brochures collateral.
  • Update weekly ‘hot sheet’ of local events.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
  • Lead a team of seasoned concierge and knowledgeable volunteers.
  • Ensure accuracy in disseminating visitor information regarding programs, events and opportunities throughout the city and surrounding region.
  • Deliver the highest standards of service for all inquiries via telephone, internet, and walk up services.
  • Facilitate problem-solving between visitors and partners.
  • Responsible for record-keeping and accuracy of partner information in concierge database.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Accurately maintain daily visitor inquiry statistics.
  • Maintain positive relationships with our partners and pertinent industry associations and organizations.
  • Ensure all standards of operation are met by Visitor Center staff.
  • Promote all retail outlets within the WSCC. Adhere to WSCC security protocol.
  • Participate and assist in coordinate and execution of destination knowledge trips (FAM’s) for concierge, interns and volunteers.
  • Adhere to departmental budget.
  • Develop and maintain working relations with all Visit Seattle departments to ensure exceptional communication.

Education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:

  • Prefer 2 years as hotel concierge or in hospitality/tourism/customer service position
  • In-depth Seattle and state knowledge required
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Patient, understanding, helpful and cheerful personality
  • Consistently positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Passionate and enthusiastic
  • Ethical
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Experience as a supervisor is a plus
  • Computer proficient and experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English

  • Able to lift and move 50+ pounds
