No matter which winter sport you like, you'll find it here: downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, heli-skiing, cat skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, figure skating, speed skating, hockey, curling, ice and glacier climbing, and year-round mountain climbing.
Washington has more than two dozen skating rinks all over the state. And with miles and miles of ski slopes and ski trails, you'll have unlimited opportunities to surround yourself with deep snow and spectacular scenery.
ALPINE SKIING
Long powder runs, modern resorts and world-record snowfall bring skiers from around the world to Washington's mountains.
NORDIC SKIING
For Nordic events, Washington has more than a dozen areas that feature hundreds of miles of groomed trails, plus an endless variety of pristine backcountry and cross-country skiing havens.
In addition to cross-country skiing, snowshoes allow trails to be used throughout the winter and spring. Mt. Rainer, Olympic National Park's Hurricane Ridge, and the Okanogan's Methow Valley have developed extensive trail systems for winter hikers.
