Recent Border News
The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) is a U.S. government program that establishes new travel document requirements for crossing the border to enter or re-enter the United States from Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean by land and sea beginning June 1. The goal of WHTI and the new requirements, which are already in effect for air travel, is to facilitate entry for U.S. citizens and legitimate foreign visitors, while strengthening U.S. border security. All United States, Canadian and Bermudian citizens are subject to the new requirements.

Currency
The American dollar is the primary form of currency among Seattle businesses. To change foreign currency to dollars, Travelex-Thomas Cook Currency Services locations can be found at SeaTac airport and in downtown Seattle at Westlake Center.

Also in Seattle are Custom House Currency Exchange centers at Pier 69 (The Victoria Clipper terminal) and just north of Pioneer Square at 911 Western Avenue, Suite 399.

Most banks are also able to exchange currencies.
