SEATTLE – Visit Seattle is happy to welcome Li Cerizo as its newest Concierge, Assistant Manager, effective December 15, 2014. In her role, Cerizo is responsible for assisting with all aspects of visitor services, including helping visitors and conference attendees at one of Visit Seattle’s two visitor centers.
A 10-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Cerizo was most recently Convention Services Coordinator for Visit Seattle and in the hotel industry prior. Cerizo has a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Private Chinese Culture University in Taipei, Taiwan.
“Li brings a high level of customer service from her Westin and Pan Pacific hotel background that is a perfect fit to our Seattle Visitor Center experience,” said Ann Peavey, Visit Seattle’s Chef Concierge of Seattle Visitor Centers and Concierge Services. “With the recent increase in Chinese visitors to Seattle, Li’s customer service background – coupled with her native Mandarin-speaking – will undoubtedly elevate the Seattle experience for Chinese visitors.”
International tourism growth is stronger than ever and China recently became the largest overseas market for Seattle and Washington State. Port of Seattle entry figures from Chinese travelers grew 28 percent through the third quarter in 2014. More growth is expected. Last month, a new bilateral agreement between China and the U.S. extended the visa validity period from one year to 10 years for eligible travelers, the longest validity possible under U.S. law. The news constitutes a major milestone for U.S. tourism marketers and encourages more travel between China and the U.S.
Direct air service from China to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport has grown substantially in recent years with Delta Air Lines currently offering flights from Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong and Hainan Airlines currently offering Beijing service.
