Harvest Photography Exhibit Showcases Washington State Products and Farm-to-Table Heritage

New Exhibit Opens in Seattle and will Tour the State

SEATTLE – The Washington State Convention Center (WSCC) presents HARVEST: The Bounty of Washington, a juried fine art photography exhibition highlighting the food products that are grown and harvested in Washington State, open now through December 2015.

More than 60 photographic works are presented by 44 local photographers throughout the state. Photos showcase 28 counties in the state and are themed to the state’s robust agricultural industry and the people who sustain its production and heritage.

The WSCC’s public art program, one of the largest of its kind in the nation, was established to provide an environment that enriches the experience of all who visit the meeting facility. With hundreds of works on display, art has been a popular feature since the facility opened in 1988.

“The convention center’s public art program welcomes neighbors and visitors to enjoy rotating art every day, free of charge,” said Jeff Blosser, WSCC President and CEO. “HARVEST: The Bounty of Washington reinforces the importance of agriculture to our economy, telling the story and showcasing Washington artwork across the state.”

The WSCC culinary team annually serves meals to more than 430,000 guests and has a long-standing commitment to Washington State products and the local farm-to-table movement.

During the past decade, WSCC has served Washington and Pacific Northwest products in the quantities expected of a major convention center:

  • 4,882 cases of apples
  • 8,722 cases of asparagus
  • 4,159 cases of mushrooms
  • 253,942 pounds of processed potatoes
  • 233,247 pounds of chicken
  • 113,500 pounds of butter
  • 72,876 bottles of wine
  • 132,303 bottles of beer

HARVEST: The Bounty of Washington is free and open to the public. The exhibit is on display on the fourth floor of the Washington State Convention Center, 7th Avenue at Pike Street in downtown Seattle.

In 2016, the exhibit will travel to the Spokane Convention Center and then to the Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick.
