GETTING READY FOR PCMA IN 2008

Seattle will host the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) Annual Meeting January 13-16, 2008. This is the first meeting in the Pacific Northwest for this international association of meetings industry professionals dedicated to educating and promoting the value of professional convention management. Seattle is poised to take advantage of the exposure and maximize the potential for future meeting business.

• The convention will showcase Seattle and the surrounding area to 2,500-3,200 meeting professionals, CEOs and meetings and convention industry suppliers, many of whom are decision-makers of future business.

• The economic impact for the immediate meeting in January 2008 is $4.5 million, though the potential economic impact from future business stimulated by the meeting is several times greater.

• The combined buying power of PCMA members is more than $18 billion in potential meetings and conventions.
