| Ronald Sevart, President and CEO of the Space Needle since last July, has more than 17 years of leadership experience in the attractions industry, specifically focused on marketing, operations, revenue growth, entertainment and guest service. He was Park President of three of the largest and most profitable Six Flags properties including Six Flags New England in Massachusetts, Six Flags Great America in Chicago, Six Flags Great Adventure, Hurricane Harbor and Wild Safari in New Jersey. After leaving Six Flags in 2006, Ron has continued to consult in the attractions industry, including the Burj Dubai, which is the tallest building in the world. For the Emaar Group, he developed the marketing and operations plans for the Burj Dubai Viewing Experience and all Dubai Mall attractions, including Atlantis, Kidzania, the Sega Indoor Theme Park as well as a cinema and an Olympic sized ice rink. Sevart most recently worked with Sage Hospitality developing and managing a portfolio of 10 Indoor Water Resorts located throughout the U.S. Sevart has served on several tourism and CVB Boards during his career.

Jeffrey & Korynne Wright Receive Seattle Center Legion of Honor Award
The Seattle Center Fund and Seattle Center Advisory Commission presented community and tourism industry leaders Jeffrey and Korynne Wright with the Legion of Honor Award on April 21. The Wrights have been active in the Seattle Center community for many years. Jeffrey Wright has served as Chairman of the Board for the Space Needle Corporation and has helped maintain a long and successful relationship with the Space Needle and Seattle Center. He also co-chaired the Century 21 Committee in its work to create the Seattle Center Century 21 Master Plan. He is a past board chair of Seattle’s Convention and Visitors Bureau and has served as a leader in the city’s tourism industry.
The Legion of Honor was established in 1982 to recognize individuals who have contributed significantly of their time and talent to develop and sustain Seattle Center as one of the region's leading cultural institutions and destinations. Seattle Center Fund was established in 1977 so that the community could support Seattle Center through gifts to Seattle Center Fund, volunteer service or corporate support.

Anne Cleveland Joins SCVB
On May 18, industry veteran Anne Cleveland joined SCVB as National Account Director. Cleveland is responsible for management of the corporate, social welfare and cultural convention sales markets. She will work in conjunction with account directors in SCVB's headquarters office in Seattle as well as satellite convention sales offices in Washington, D.C. and the Midwest. During her twenty-year tenure at Marriott International, Inc., Cleveland most recently served as Senior Account Executive Marriott International-Seattle Market Sales and brings with her 15 years of Seattle market experience. Cleveland is a Seattle native and a graduate from Washington State University’s Hotel and Restaurant Management program. She is an active member of both the Washington Society of Association Executives and the Pacific Northwest Chapter of Professional Convention Management Association.
