WashingtonFilmWorks Rolls into Action
WashingtonFilmWorks (WFW) is a not-for-profit organization formed by the state legislature last year to stimulate film and video production growth and revitalize the state's reputation as a premiere destination for motion picture production.
Tay Yoshitani
Since launching in February, the organization has incentivized four projects statewide including three feature films and one commercial production. WFW has signed on Amy Dee as Executive Director to oversee the new venture and the Board of Directors is chaired by Rebecca Bogard of Bogard & Johnson Associates, LLC. WFW offers funding assistance of up to 20 percent of in-state expenditures to commercial, television and feature film productions. There is a $1 million funding cap on each production. To be funded, feature films must spend at least $500,000, television productions must spend $300,000 and commercial productions must spend $250,000.
