Seattle's Convention and Visitors Bureau (SCVB) is proud to introduce a new voluntourism program. In partnership with its member tourism businesses and Seattle Works, a leading community service organization, SCVB will tap the charitable spirit of Seattle convention attendees, tour groups, leisure and business travelers to benefit Seattle’s community organizations and causes.
A growing national tourism industry trend, volunteer activities are increasingly requested by meeting and group tour planners who want to give back to a host city. As these visiting groups seek team-building opportunities, Seattle's renowned spirit of caring and cooperation provides further draw – the chance to form new and innovative partnerships for mutual success.
In 2009 and beyond, SCVB and its volunteer team will work to connect Seattle's charitable opportunities with its increasingly charitable visitors.
