Gingerbread Village

Of all the holiday happenings in town, this one may just take the cake—er, cookie. Starting November 22, the lobby of Sheraton Seattle is transformed into a massive gingerbread showcase. Local architects and builders team up with the hotel’s culinary staff to create stunningly decorated gingerbread displays that light up and even move. The theme this year is everyone’s favorite wizarding world, so expect a magical time. Cocktails at Oliver’s Lounge

Say cheers to the season with holiday-inspired drinks at Oliver’s Lounge in the historic Mayflower Park Hotel. The drink menu has the perfect mix of classic cocktails and modern-leaning concoctions. Try the Silver Belle—an award-winning drink featuring Grey Goose vodka, St. Germain liqueur, champagne, and a finish of lemon—or stick with The Classic, an eight-time winner in the International Martini Classic Challenge, starring gin, vodka, and the perfect balance of dry vermouth. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking downtown Seattle provide the perfect atmosphere for any winter tipple.

Sun Liquor’s Aged Eggnog

Treat yourself to this holiday beverage with a twist. Sun Liquor’s eggnog is a local favorite, with crowds clamoring for the creamy drink every December. Aged for 30 days, the eggnog is made with fresh eggs, cream, nutmeg, and Sun Liquor Distillery’s own brandy, bourbon, and molasses rum. The coveted eggnog is poured at Sun Liquor’s lounge and distillery for two days only, December 24 and 25, so make sure to drop by and snag a glass.

Winter Beer Fest

It wouldn’t be the holidays in Seattle without a festival all about seasonal beers. Washington Brewer’s Guild hosts its annual Winter Beer Fest, December 2 and 3, at Hangar 30 in Magnuson Park. More than 50 local breweries pour their winter releases, from smooth stouts to hoppy winter warmers to barrel-aged brews. Admission includes eight tastings, with the chance to vote for your favorite booth decorations and beer. Cheers to that!
