Some of our most beloved public artworks include Jack Mackie's famous "Dance Steps" along Broadway on Capitol Hill, Isamu Noguchi's "Black Sun" in Volunteer Park, and Richard Beyer's much-decorated "Waiting for the Interurban" sculpture in Fremont. And of course, Seattle is often called the nation's glass art capital, and it's easy to see why. From the stunning chandeliers at Benaroya Hall to the Seaforms at the Seattle Aquarium, world-famous artist Dale Chihuly is just one of the well known glass artists whose work graces public spaces in Seattle. Our historic Pioneer Square district celebrates Art in the Park on the first Thursday of each month, along with a gallery art walk and late night hours. Or consider one of our self-guided public art walking tours to ensure that you don't miss anything!
Seattle Center is home to eleven large public arts pieces, including Alexander Liberman’s Olympic Iliad. |
