Architecture

The iconic Space Needle, built in 1962 for the World’s Fair, sits against the picturesque backdrop of the Cascade Mountains to the east, and Puget Sound to the west. Experience Music Project, the result of the artistic genius Frank O. Gehry, bursts out of Seattle Center with vibrant colors and eccentric curves. There are also a handful of organizations offering specialized tours that explore the stunning selection of architectural masterpieces in both the downtown core and residential areas. Have tea with Historic Seattle in a historic private estate, or enjoy a variety of guided walking tours with the Seattle Architecture Foundation.
