Seattle’s well-known penchant for innovation extends not only to the world of software, coffee, airplanes and online shopping but to our popular culture as well. The Frank Gehry-designed Experience Music Project is one of a kind. It offers 140,000 sq. ft. of interactive exhibits, pop culture, live music venues and more. Opened in the summer of 2004, the Science Fiction Museum & Hall of Fame is also the world’s first of its kind. It spans 13,000 square feet of exhibit space and includes artifacts that represent science fiction’s influence on popular culture, including interactive exhibits and replicas from a wide range of art, film and literature. These two distinctive museums are housed in the same enchanting building; bursting with a rainbow of color and eccentric curves right at the heart of Seattle Center.
