Seattle Chinatown Gate Dedicated in February 2008

A colorful new gate marks the historic western entrance of Old Chinatown,
at S King Street and Fifth Avenue S. The traditional design includes
upturned eaves, a dragon, a phoenix and other symbols that represent good
luck.
In the Works
Several projects are in the works, and will be added to the Asian American cultural itinerary when they are ready for visitors.
Bainbridge Island Japanese American Memorial

The Nidoto Nai Yoni Memorial at the former Eagledale Ferry Landing will tell the story of the Island's Japanese Americans who were incarcerated at Manzanar War Relocation Center during World War II.
Chinese Garden at South Seattle Community College

When completed, the garden will be one of the largest Chinese gardens outside of China, showcasing plants, stone, architecture, water elements and outstanding views.
Mukai Farm & Garden, Vashon Island

This prosperous strawberry farm and fruit barreling plant has been preserved as a King County Landmark and will eventually be restored and opened to the public.
Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Washington
