Densho

Densho is a Japanese term meaning "to pass on to the next generation," or to leave a legacy. This legacy project documents the incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II, an unprecedented event that had a major impact on Seattle's history.

This national organization was founded in 1982, and is an excellent source of information on Filipino American history, scholarship and artistic work.

BOOKS
Independent bookstores such as the Elliott Bay Book Company and the University Book Store have a wide selection of local history books. Gift shops at the Wing Luke Asian Museum and the Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI) offer a selection of heritage books as well.
