Seattle Carousel Magic
By Kimberly Ellertson
The Ellertsons at Seattle’s own Westlake Carousel
December in Seattle is magical. And even more magical through the eyes of a toddler. I’ve had the good fortune of riding a carousel about a million times in my life. (Ok, maybe that’s a slight exaggeration). But it was definitely the most wonderful treat to ride the Holiday Carousel presented by King 5, in Westlake Park with my little one. His eyes were open wide, taking it all in, and pointing from horse to horse with eagerness and anticipation.
Under the glowing lights of the Macy’s holiday star, next to the enormous Christmas tree at Westlake Center, my little family felt feverishly festive and ready for the Holiday spirit to wash over us.
Momma Tip: Bring a few extra dollars to teach your kids the importance of giving to others. Proceeds from the carousel benefit Treehouse, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to giving foster kids a childhood and a future. It’s a lesson that is especially important during the Holiday season.
