Valentine’s Day Specials Fill the City

SEATTLE – Love is in the air. Whether you celebrate Valentine’s Day or not, there’s a special offer for all on this hallmark holiday. Seattle’s hospitality community indulges in the thought of the celebration of love, in any form. The following depicts some of the finest dining and lodging options in the Northwest, just in time for cupid’s arrow.

Love at First Bite
James Beard award-winning chef Maria Hines is celebrating Valentine’s Day at her newest restaurant, Agrodolce. Open since late December, the Southern Italian trattoria located in Fremont is creating a four-course menu for $65 featuring house milled, handmade Ricotta Ravioli with black truffle butter, Albacore Tuna with Meyer lemon, artichoke and capers, and Chocolate Budino. Recommended wine pairing is an additional $30.

Fire up the Romance this Valentine’s Day at Historic Northwest Resort
Available through February, the romance-themed packages range from couples treatments at the property’s full-service spa, overnight accommodations and items from the resort’s “Racy Room Service” menu. Less than two hours west of Seattle, the property is celebrating its centennial year in 2013 and boasts sweeping views of the nearby Olympic Mountains. Valentine’s Day packages start at $259. Anti-Valentine’s Day
Who needs a special someone to celebrate February 14th? The Bookstore Bar celebrates singles with an anti-Valentine’s Day menu. Where else can you sip on a ‘sisters before misters’ or chew on ‘that snake?’

Leave It To The Experts: Vegetarian Valentine’s Day
With over 20 years of vegetarian cuisine, Cafe Flora’s decadent four-course Valentine’s menu provides a perfect escape for a cozy and romantic meal, with a sustainable flair. The local vegetarian and vegan menu also offers gluten free dishes that satisfy, including Sumac Grilled Mango and Spiced Pequin Peppers. $50 per person; wine pairings additional $20 per person or enjoy signature cocktails, bubbly and local beer and cider.

Wine Tour Package at Coast Wenatchee Center Hotel
The Coast Wenatchee Center Hotel’s “Wine Tour Package” starts at $199 and includes overnight accommodations, a $20 Rivertop Bar & Grill voucher and two tickets for your guided wine tour. Wine tours available through Blue Sky Outfitters Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon.

Your Table Awaits: The Glasshouse at Chihuly Garden and Glass Transforms for Valentine’s
Chef Ivan Szilak of the Collections Café will transform the Glasshouse into a romantic setting for a multiple course dining experience. Set special for the occasion, guests will dine at intimate tables for two uniquely positioned under the dramatic Glasshouse sculpture while a jazz band provides a romantic soundtrack. Additionally, each two-some includes a bottle of wine, valet for one vehicle, admission to the galleries and garden and a commemorative keepsake from The Bookstore.

Valentine’s Day at Ethan Stowell Restaurants
All five Ethan Stowell restaurants have put together distinctive multi-course menus for the evening. Indulge at Staple & Fancy Mercantile, Anchovies & Olives, How to Cook a Wolf, Rione XIII or Tavolata. Throughout February the Spa is celebrating love with three packages that can be purchased as a gift certificate or gift card, a perfect addition to a Valentine’s Day card. Maria Hines’ Mediterranean Valentine
Discover the place for Mediterranean cuisine celebrating robust flavors and spices served with a sustainable conscience. Valentine’s Day at Golden Beetle brings unrivaled Mediterranean dishes with a four-course menu for $50 and optional wine pairing for $25. Choices include Paprika Smoked Cod, Seared Lamb Belly and Chocolate Truffle Torte. Known for its craft cocktails, diners can expect a special Valentine’s Day spirited cocktail.

Hunger Satisfies On Valentine’s Day
Hunger has put their heart into a special five-course Valentine’s menu filled with rich winter flavors and decadent treats like beef tartare, baked oysters with harissa butter and a decadent chocolate sampler. Guests will receive a sweet treat delivered with their bill and a rose for the special lady, or gent. The menu is available for $150 per couple; wine pairings available for additional $25 per person.

From The Heart of Italy
Il Fornaio is recreating the flavors of one of Italy’s most beloved regions, Umbria. Indulge in the flavorful and earthy menu filled with Umbrian specialties, including black truffles, olive oil, pecorino and handmade pastas. This special menu is available per item or as a three-course tasting menu for $32.99. Umbrian wine pairings are also available. Diners will receive a complimentary heart-shaped bottle of Il Fornaio’s signature extra-virgin olive oil.

Steam things up on Valentine’s Day at Ivar’s Seattle seafood restaurants
Take in the view of one another as well as the waterfront by heading to Ivar’s full-service restaurants in Seattle and Mukilteo for love-themed dining specials. Ivar’s Acres of Clams, Ivar’s Salmon House and Ivar’s Mukilteo Landing, will feature a clamtastic menu to celebrate Valentine’s Day in Seattle on Thursday, Feb. 14 through Sunday, Feb. 17, including romantic bites, sensual cocktails and half-priced Champagne and sparkling wines.

Indulge In an Aphrodisiac “Sexy Menu”
Chef-owner Sam Crannell is inspiring couples to indulge in their senses with his aphrodisiac-inspired “Sexy Menu.” Guests will encounter such aphrodisiacs as local honey, lobster, avocado, oysters and other sensual ingredients. The three-course menu is $75 per person, optional wine paring for additional $25.

Valentine’s Day at Monsoon and Monsoon East
Sibling chefs Eric and Sophie Banh have crafted a unique, delicious menu for the romantic holiday coming up on Thursday, February 14th. The Valentine’s Day menu is full of tantalizing options in the refined style that has come to define the Monsoon Restaurants. Guests will have the opportunity to explore Banh’s award-winning wine list and a wine pairing option will be available for those interested at $25 per person. Cost of the four course dinner is $70 per person for reservations between 6:15pm and 8:30pm. Cost is $60 per person for reservations before 6pm and after 8:30pm. Urbane, a local restaurant with the holistic philosophy that good food depends on good ingredients, will be dishing up swoon-worthy a la carte specials throughout the evening of Valentine’s Day. Executive Chef Greg Lopez and the Urbane staff have cultivated close, personal relationships with a variety of farmers and purveyors throughout the Pacific Northwest to bring fresh, quality menu items – from lobster to duck – to the table this holiday.

Volunteer Park Café + Valentine’s Day
The café will have Stain glass Heart Cookies, Linzer Heart Cookies, small bags of heart shaped sugar cookies, Chocolate and Vanilla Sandwich Cookies and small bags of heart shaped Peanut Butter Dogs Treats available February 7 to 14.

Divine Valentine’s Day treats for zoo animals
Woodland Park Zoo is celebrating Valentine’s Day early by treating the animals to heart-shaped ice pops, herbal bouquets and heart shaped steaks on Saturday, February 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The special treats are part of the zookeepers’ ongoing enrichment program to help enrich the lives of the zoo’s animals, promote natural behavior, keep animals mentally stimulated and engage zoo visitors. This valentine’s event is free with zoo admission. Adult tickets are $12.75, children (3-12) $8.75 and toddlers are free. Military, seniors and people with physical disabilities receive an admission discount. Parking is $5.25 and zoo winter hours are 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
