Seattle’s Official Tourism Web Site Re-Launches Today
SEATTLE - Seattle’s Convention and Visitors Bureau (SCVB) re-launched its destination web site, www.visitseattle.org, today. The new web site, which is the primary portal for Seattle visitors from around the world, convention attendees, tour operators, travel agents and travel media, is greatly expanded and more current in content, user features and functionality.
The revitalized web site will feature a greater breadth of Seattle travel information and resources and more timely and dynamic content, photos and video. The site will also offer expanded and refined search capabilities, language translation, new Twitter feeds and pages that are even more relevant and intuitive for individual users.
Today’s launch constitutes the first phase of web site development. In the coming months, SCVB will continue to add to and enhance the web site, including expansion of social media feeds and features and links and an “Itinerary Builder” that will allow travelers to create their own Seattle itineraries.
Seattle’s Convention and Visitors Bureau is a non-profit economic development agency responsible for competitively marketing Seattle as a destination for meeting and convention groups and leisure travelers. As a membership-based organization, SCVB connects more than 1,000 local businesses with the lucrative visitor market. Some 8.8 million visitors spend $6.9 billion in Seattle and King County annually, contributing $416 million in state and local tax revenues. Direct visitor spending benefits hotels, retailers, restaurants, attractions, transportation services and other businesses, and supports jobs for more than 50,000 people in the Seattle region.
