SEATTLE – The annual meeting of Seattle’s Convention and Visitors Bureau (SCVB) inaugurates a new name and format, a state-of-the-industry report for the nation and the region and presentation of the local tourism industry’s most distinguished awards, March 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Washington State Convention Center.
This annual meeting, now called 2011 Seattle Tourism Outlook, will feature a keynote address by Roger Dow, President and CEO of the U.S. Travel Association. SCVB will release its annual Seattle/King County tourism statistics and performance data at the event, as well as projections for 2011 and beyond.
The local tourism industry’s highest awards will also be presented: the 2011 Tourism Ambassador of the Year award (recipient to be announced at the event) and the inaugural Seattle Tourism Leadership Award to Frank K. Finneran, Chairman of the Washington State Convention Center and regional industry veteran who is widely credited with positively transforming the regional tourism landscape.
The Seattle Tourism Outlook Forum is the city’s largest annual tourism industry event with expected attendance of more than 500. The event is open to public and corporate table sales are available; to register or reserve a table, visit
