WSCC Fact Sheet


The Washington State Convention Center (WSCC) opened in 1988 in the heart of downtown Seattle’s central retail, entertainment and cultural district. In July 2010, The Conference Center opened within the WSCC complex - called Convention Place - functioning as a stand-alone, executive-quality meeting facility for regional and national conferences. Today, the WSCC and The Conference Center comprise the largest meeting and event facility in Washington state and are within a few blocks walk of more than 8,000 hotel guest rooms.

  • Two boardrooms feature built-in, state-of-the-art equipment controlled from conference tables made with reclaimed thousand-year-old Douglas fir

Leading-edge technology
  • All meeting rooms are equipped with intuitive audio controls and touch screen lighting panels, CAT-6 connections and fiber optic ports
  • Client-based wireless access is optimized with a 1 Gigabyte fiber optic backbone and two OC3 circuits to allow any program to handle up to 2,500 simultaneous wireless users
  • LCD signage supports all media formats for a high degree of customization
Green Leader
  • Received LEED Silver Certification in 2011 through its use of sustainable construction practices, furnishings and equipment
  • Wall and partition fabrics are GREENGUARD certified
  • All food service equipment is Energy Star rated
  • Nearly 90 percent of all construction waste was reclaimed and recycled
