Seattle’s Revered Summer Festival Returns with Community Events, Parades and Aerial Flair

This summer festival celebrates traditions, ethnic culture and diverse neighborhoods that make Seattle so unique, with most events being free or low cost. Highlights include the 2014 Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade, where multiple generations line the two and a half mile parade route to cheer on family and friends marching in the parade or to just celebrate the tradition. The parade is scheduled for Saturday, July 26 and winds from the Seattle Center via 4th Avenue to Westlake Center in downtown Seattle. Seafair Weekend featuring the Albert Lee Appliance Cup and Boeing Seafair Air Show caps off the festivities Aug. 1-3, with unlimited hydroplane races on Lake Washington and the high flying manuevers of the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.
